For M&A advisors & bankers

One data room. Every bidder, isolated.

For a boutique advisor the data room is the whole job. Run each sell-side mandate in Octopus: bundle the diligence set into folders, give 100 to 200+ buyers their own gated links, and watch who reads what across the whole field, with a complete audit trail and none of the enterprise price tag.

Flat-rate, your team included. Room free for 14 days.

The data room is the whole job, but the tooling fails you at both ends.

Google Drive is a real liability when you are sharing a seller's financials with dozens of buyers, and it tells you nothing about who is serious. Datasite and Ansarada fix the control but bill by the deal or the page and cost more than a $5M to $100M mandate can justify. Boutiques get stuck paying too much or sharing too loosely.

What you get

A deal room that reads the room.

Bidder isolation by folderCompeting buyers never see each other's material

Give each bidder group a link that opens only the folders you assign. One room, cleanly partitioned, in minutes.

Per-group activity breakdownSee which bidder is serious before the second round

See how hard each bidder group is working the room, page by page, so you know who's doing the diligence and who's just kicking tires.

New-device alerts + full audit logA timestamped record of every open, unlock, and NDA

Get an alert when someone opens the room from a new device or location, and hand your client a clean audit trail of exactly who accessed what, when.

Exportable PDF & CSV reportsClient-ready activity, one click

Export the whole picture, every viewer and what they read, in a report clean enough to send straight to your client.

In practice

Know which bidder to push before you set the deadline.

Three bidder groups, three isolated links, one room. A week in, Octopus shows one group has every partner deep in the financials and the legal folder, while another has barely opened the teaser. You steer the process toward the real buyer, and you can prove why.

M&A advisor FAQ

Anything else? Talk to the founder directly.

Can each bidder see only their own folders?

Yes. Each bidder group gets its own link that opens only the folders you assign, so competing buyers never see each other's material or activity. You can change a group's folders or turn its link off at any time.

How many buyers can one room handle?

A single room can run a full sell-side process with 100 to 200+ buyers, each in their own isolated group.

Can I give my client a report of buyer activity?

Yes. Every open, download, NDA acceptance and access change is in the audit log, and higher plans export a client-ready PDF or CSV of every viewer and what they read.

What does it cost?

Flat monthly pricing: $119 for one diligence room (Room, free for 14 days), $179 for a live process with per-party links, Q&A and an audit log (Deal), and $399 for several at once (Desk). No per-deal, per-seat or per-page fees.
